In my studies thus far, Tadao Ando is truly a great architect of space and geometry. His architecture has strong special qualities and his signature architectural play has never failed to increase the aesthetic value of his building. My team and I have studied his masterpiece and translated it into 10 abstraction models based on his first award winning house – the Azuma House. The process of it, we have worked out 10 different concepts based on the house alone with our lecturer and studied how Tadao Ando formulated the concepts into the design.

 

Abstracting his work based on concepts and function has allowed me to understand briefly on how the house functions based on the concept. The geometry shapes of the houses are placed there due to the wants and needs of his clients and not placed there just for the sake of filling up the voids.

 

Tadao Ando is truly an architect of space, and builder for humanity.

It’s always a pleasure to be working side by side with them as they are very cooperative, helpful and fun.

 

Through this project, I was able to understand how Stadium Merdeka came about. Who designed it, where it was built, when it was built, how was it built and why was it built. It was very inspiring to see how it all came about starting from a race track and turned into a beautifully designed modernist building. And it was nice to be there to feel the functionality of the stadium instead of just researching online. It is always better to experience the architecture instead of just looking or reading through it online.
